The District needed attractive, creative artwork for the purpose of marketing and promotion. As a quasi-government entity, their messaging had a larger educational component. But that doesn’t mean their marketing should be boring or unattractive. In fact, we found that people paid more attention to the messaging, when the design was appealing.
A series of three posters were created, printed, and posted throughout the downtown Columbia area. These designs became iconic and popular; even a few people collected them for personal displays. It still remains a highly successful marketing campaign.
